How do I make a school booking?

We ask for a school email address, school contact details, approximate numbers of both children and adults, ages of children, a specific date and any educational extras required from our Safari Academy. Please note there is no cancellation fee for any bookings or amended numbers and payments can be invoiced after your visit.

Where can we eat lunch?

You can eat lunch on the hill by the coach park where there is seating for up to 250 students. A classroom is also available for lunch hire at a cost of £50 which includes a Creature Feature education provision. This is subject to availability.

Where are the toilets?

The toilets are situated in the car park by the seating area. There are also facilities next to the Reptile House and at the Safari Academy when booking an education session.

How do we travel around the Safari Drive-through?

The Safari Drive-through is open all day. You are welcome to drive around in your own vehicles at your own leisure. The Safari Academy can provide you with a Safari Ranger to enhance your educational visit if required. This educational session is our most popular choice for schools visiting us.

Can I have a risk assessment from you?

We do not provide risk assessments, however, guidelines are on the website and are sent out as a link with a confirmation booking. We also provide 2 preview tickets for school risk assessments to be carried out once a booking is confirmed. We have been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge.

How can I pay?

If you wish to be invoiced after your trip please supply a Purchase Order 7 days prior to your visit. You can pay by school cheque, credit card or cash on the day.

How do I know if you are open when there is bad weather?

We can provide you with the most updated information we have if you contact us on the morning of your visit. We will make contact with you the day before your visit if we are informed that Park will be closed.

How do I find out about educational sessions from your Safari Academy?

Please have look on our website at the range of educational sessions we can deliver from EYFS through to University sessions. This is found in the ‘Schools & Groups’ tab.

An experienced Education Officer will bring a selection of supporting biofacts such as animal furs, skins, antlers, feathers and skulls to you to support your theme or topic.

 We can offer structured workshops designed to complement your learning and/or your onsite visit to the Park. These will be led by our Education Officer and include hands on opportunities and activities. Alternatively we can turn up with amazing biofacts and a knowledgeable member of staff to support a session you will be delivering yourself.


Additional £15 travel cost for 25-40miles, maximum distance travelled 40 miles from DY12 1LF.We can be onsite for up to 3 or 6 hours. You can mix and match the sessions you want within that time!

45 minute sessions designed to be hands on and fun with a range of biofacts and activities linked to a central storyline.

Suitable for: Up to 35 people, ideal for EYS, KS1 or KS2.



45 minute sessions designed to develop knowledge and discussion skills. A great way for linking to a recent or upcoming Safari Park visit.

Suitable for: Up to 35 people, ideal for KS3+ and Community Groups.



Once booked, we will send confirmed timings and sessions via email so you can plan your day, along with our handy outreach guidelines . We will bring antibacterial hand gel to use after handling artefacts for classrooms without internal sinks, but strongly advise you ensure your pupils wash their hands at the earliest available opportunity.


No prepayment needed, we will arrange for an invoice to be sent afterwards.


Our staff will aim to be with you 30 minutes before your first session is due to start. If for any reason we are delayed due to circumstances out of our control, the member of staff will call ahead with an estimated arrival time. If you are booking a full day, please ensure you plan a half hour lunch-break in the middle.


Outreach sessions must be booked a minimum of 7 days in advance, and are subject to availability. If you would like us to visit on a particular date, please book us as soon as you know. No complicated booking forms or deposits needed, just contact us to find out more.
